Existential Punk

i always wondered how emergent things jived with the African petecostalism. i come out of a certainty based pentecostalism and was BURNED big time and run very far away. Maybe i will check this out.

Brian McLaren's work with Amahoro fascinates me. His take, i think, is on post-colonialism.

Thanks Jonny! I've now downloaded it. Glad that one was recorded. Sorry I didn't get to it but there was so much other good stuff on at the same time.

heard it this morning. nice.

Abidemi Sanusi

well, I'm a pentecostal and my friend Liz (www.lizclutterbuck.blogspot.com) is an emergent cum liberal cum evangelical cum slightly weird Anglican 'english woman'. it's all about the mix.

By the way, I speak blindly as I haven't heard the recording.

Cheers Jonny. Happy New Year. I've listened to your conversation travelling into work for the last couple of days. Fascinating. It brings back memories of conversations I had in Mid-08 in Zambia. Telling my story in that context was a very unnerving experience for the reason's you highlighted in the early part of your conversation - the contexts are so different, churchless faith etc are not readily understandable.

So thanks, really useful to revisit that conversation and to listen to the two of you reflecting on very similar issues, challenges and opportunities...

Hope the year ahead is a great one for you and the family.

Paul Fromont

Ooops. Should have been "Paul Fromont" not "Paul Millar"

worship tricks

  • series 1series 2series 3

where i come across creative ideas, liturgies, movies, music tracks, service outlines or anything that strikes me, i add them as worship tricks. i started these in april 2002 when i first began blogging and they have built up over the years so that i am now on the third series. this has proved a pretty popular feature of the blog.
