chris and anna have lived in hull since 1994 in a poor community, just being there and sharing life in the community and helping people. this has involved various things such as breakfast clubs. but at the heart of it is presence and presence for the long term. it's not always easy getting support for what they are doing but over the years yfc, cms, cuf and no doubt a few others have helped. i certainly feel glad that they are linked with cms as mission partners as this is precisely the kind of commitment to pioneering mission i'd love to see grow elsewhere. anyway cuf (church urban fund) have put together a simple video about the work there which i found inspiring...

Don't you mean HULL rather than "hill"?!

I'm sure you mean 'ull' actually. As you say inspirational - Chris and Anna and team are amazing.

Thanks so much for this Jonny; it's moving, challenging and hopeful and really shows what the kingdom looks like when the church is committed to being the good news at ground level. I am moving to Hull in August to become Superintendent Minister of the Hull West Methodist Circuit and this video has certainly inspired me. Bless you.

Hmmm...
It strikes me there is hope for the Church when the Church brings hope to communities.
Something I read recently quoted Brunner, 'The Church exists by mission as fire exists by burning.' What do you think about this?
