I know what you mean. IT's a tough one. My wife and I (no kids yet) are still having a hard time with it. I think our focus this year is going to be more on being responsible rather than "buying NOTHING". We're still doing presents, just not to the point of insanity. I'm only buying for my wife, and my parents. My wife is buying for me and her parents. That's it. For all the rest of our friends we are throwing a meal at our house that they are all invited to. I think my wife made chocolates to give away as well. That's it... just trying to get the focus back on what really matters.
