Interesting. How is the response from ppl? I'm not too informed with VJ worship experiences, but I have been to some polished services. For me, I dig on the raw, un-premeditated stuff. I think that's a reason why I'm not big into studio releases - it seems to lack something...

i know what you mean - i think people can have slick polished stuff that doesn't have a bite or an edge. i think it's all about creativity - far better to be making and producing your own stuff (albeit mixed with some other stuff) than copying wholesale what others are doing...

As someone who was at the cathedral that day I can vouch for the fact that I and my seminary classmates thought the experience totally rocked. It was professionally done but it wasn't too slick, which would have discouraged us from trying to do this in our chapel next year. There were 2 students from our worship committee and we've already started talking about incorporating VJing into chapel services next year. Your presentation made us feel like we could manage something that won't embarrass us.

that makes me sooo happy! maybe it was worth us coming over.....

I think think this kind of creativity in using video during worship is sooooo needed!
I am willing to host whatever videos people create and distribute them on my website free of charge. Look me up at www.worshiploops.com.
I'd like to do whatever I can to promote this kind of creativity.

where i come across creative ideas, liturgies, movies, music tracks, service outlines or anything that strikes me, i add them as worship tricks. i started these in april 2002 when i first began blogging and they have built up over the years so that i am now on the third series. this has proved a pretty popular feature of the blog.
