of course Firefox does a nice job of handling RSS and Atom feeds, and Newsfire (also free for OS X) does a great job too...and I find it less cluttered than netnewswire.

I'm trying out the RSS reader in Thunderbird too. Don't use it for my email but it seems to get around the cache refresh problems I have with the ISP's upstream cache. The OSX news readers (like NetNewsWire) based on Safari's web toolkit don't seem to always get the latest version of an RSS feed through the cache. So far, so good with Thunderbird.
