tomorrow i'm off with dave to lead a session at the winchester diocesan conference. just looking at the programme and none other than jurgen moltmann is one of the speakers - i'll see if i can persuade him to start a blog...

I bet he'd be up for it if he hasn't already got one! One of the highlights of my clerical journey was when Moltmann was key speaker at the Manchester Diocesan Conference way back in the late 80's - If you have never read his book The Open Church you should try and find a copy (it may be out of print) great stuff.

I once heard Jurgen lecture on "what happens when we die" at Duke. I found much of it unintellgible at the time! But by the end he basically said - "well none of use are sure, but whatever it is, we are with God." That was good enough for me. I really enjoyed reading his lectures from the Princeton Institute for Youth Ministry from 1999. One of the talks focused on his life story which included WW2, and I found that he had been befriended by the late Frank Baker whom we knew at Duke, one of the great Wesley historians.
