we caught an overnight train from bangalore to kottyam (kerala) which took 14 hours. an indian train in itself is an experience. but the moment that struck me was when i walked most of the length of the train to see the other half of our group. there were groups of nuns, people gathered together reading religious leaflets with a picture of a guru on the front, muslims facing mecca and praying, people sat on the top bunk in a meditation position, groups ringing bells and singing hindu songs. reminded me of paul in athens saying 'i see that you are religious in every way'... managed a few hours kip and arrived bleary eyed in kottayam
