since the emergingchurch.info day i have been waiting for the june issue to go online. at the day we launched the virtual interactive prayer lavalamp. it is now public and is totally brilliant.
when you click on a bubble a window opens in which you type your prayer. clicking amen then returns the bubble to the lamp where your prayer floats upwards until it's reunited with the lava. you can also minimise the lamp so it is just there in the corner of your screen. we talked about wanting something interactive for prayer but unique to the site. this is what we landed... and of course it is worship trick 28 [second series]. i guess this is digital or technospirituality.

Thanks for that - its a brilliant idea, makes praying feel tangible, i've been struggling with praying for a while, this helped, Hils

Aargh, my eyes!
Only kidding. :-)
It's well programmed, and useful to hook people.

hi i think it is good but i think it is good if you can see other people's prayers so you can pray them too and they can pray yours. you could always have a button so you don't have to display your prayer if you don't want to??? but I guess you all thought of this already. was it too technically difficult or troublesome to have that facility?

Love it.
Just a small question - are you supposed to be able to see your prayer in the bubble as it rejoins the lamp? If so it's not working for me

the bubble reappears and glows a bit more until it floats to the top... we decided we didn't want prayers to appear for everyone to see.

Sorry it is no longer online. I am currently away but might be able to see if I have it on an external hard drive when I get back.
