i happened to be walking past the tate modern yesterday and popped in as i thought the new piece embankment by rachel whiteread was opening. turned out it was a press day and it opens today but i still got a good look and photo... i think it will be a big hit, works really well in the space. it is made from 14 000 casts of the inside of cardboard boxes.

Gosh! I was there too! Almost-synchronicity. i enjoyed discovering how standing by, and walking close between, different kinds of stacks of boxes (straight, close, 'warehouse'-style stacks; scattered 'sugar-cube' piles) FELT different - some comforting, some constricting, some airy, some scary... meanwhile I noticed that the school groups had discovered very quickly just how good the wjole thing is for games of hide-and-seek...
