en route to a meeting in bristol today to talk about worship for greenbelt this year i called in to see friends jon and clare in bath and had a look at the hosts exhibition...
5 screens hang suspended in bath abbey. on one is a brilliant video of blurry figures climbing up and down ladders which reflects the jacob's ladder in the stonework outside the abbey. then you put on a head set and as you walk under the other screens figures appear who offer you messages. it's great to see bath abbey incorporating conntemporary art installation in this way. it looks great. i liked the figures on the ladder the best. the other part was ok but the messages were somewhat disappointing. they felt a bit nothingy - i was expecting some engagement with angelic encounters or an exploration of encountering angels without realising it, or whatever but it was all a bit thin unless i didn't get it...
Jonny, "Happy Birthday" - Not the 24th where you are, but it is here - and a lovely start to the 24th it is...nothing but blue sky. Enjoy a beer.

Thanks for mentioning this Jonny - I wish I could get to see it. I've linked to this on my blog, hope that's OK.
