loved this piece by kester - stones - posted on signs and the open office...
making it worship trick 11 [series 3]
If we could all
just stop throwing stones,
and stoop, knees bent
and write in the dust,we'd see that the dust
was once stone -
grand, and hard, and proud, and tough -
now ground and dissolved
in grace and tears.So... how much better
to be a grain of dirt
on that kind prophet’s hands
than a stone
in the cold, accusing Temple
of the pure.
Beautiful shape, pace and verse.
May our poetic sensibilities continue to rise and re-voice the thunderous message of hope.

If we could all
Just stop throwing down litter
And stoop, knees bent,
And pick up someone else's litter
Maybe that, for us today,
Would be akin to Jesus,
Washing his disciples' feet.
He, who did not have feet
Soiled with litter of life
Stoops, knees bent, to wash the feet of
Those who would deny him,
Those who would betray him,
Those who would just run away.
And still he washes,
Our lives,
If only we let him.
He's everywhere, unless we shut him out.
Will you stoop, knees bent,
At the foot of his cross,
And let him wash your life clean?
