last night of course i was in the pub watching the football with mike, joel and harry. meantime jen was at the grace knitting group - yes apparently it is the new rock and roll! a selection of our text messages... mine are in italics and i'm sure you'll detect the smallest hint of irony in the replies!

Jonny, as a cradle red (though it is something that is in the blood rather than something which causes me to watch the game) and regular reader of your blog, I've noted with interest your your previous footy comments. My man has sportingly swallowed his pride and says congratulations, enjoy the feeling but you'd better do the business with Man U.
I think I know where Jen is coming from. My favourite response is, "That's nice, dear" a la June Whitfield.

well I was praying for the other side to win.....think I will re-assess my prayer life in light of the result!!
All the best for 21st....just beat Man U, that is all I ask

I think we need a thread on what is the nature of prayer and how prayer and luck interface.
Best bit was Stevie G pushing Avram Grant over - great slapstick.
Well done Chelsea - you've waited long enough.
Signed...
A prayerful Saints supporter hoping for luck!
