i think this is just an advert but i did like the phrase 'you are culture' which we saw in tokyo. culture is many things and there are thousands of definitions and ways of explaining it. it runs deep and our worldviews and beliefs and values and practices and myths or whatever else it is are not just something that exist in the realm of ideas. they are also deeply embedded in us - maybe they are us more than we know or like to admit. it's great visiting a culture completely different from your own where you are illiterate in terms of not just language but pretty much reading any of the signs. when you cross a culture and look back at your own it reminds you to hold more lightly the way we do things around here...
jun 'you are culture' is actually an interesting website http://youareculture.jun.co.jp/ although i don't know what it is about! seems to be a fashion thing. the japanese typography is great.
