when i was in new york i saw these gorillaz figures on display in urban outfitters. they are a limited edition designed by jamie hewlett and are already disappearing fast. sadly they had sold out or i might have got one. i expect they will be on ebay for about 5 times the price in the run up to christmas. 2D is already hard to find... lots of pics and a comprehensive review at jim hill media
the latest howies catalogue is as brilliant as ever. inbetween the clothing are various reflections. these are all on the drop down menu under think on the howies web site. i am adding it as a worship trick. here's a couple that struck me:
If you don't own the latest thing, it won't go out of date.
If you don't own much, you won't have much to lose.
If you own next to nothing, you won't worry about ending up with nothing.
If you own less than you want, you will still have more than you need.
If you spend less money on things, you can spend more time on you.
If you own less, you will value it more.
If you own only what you can carry, you will carry less baggage around with you.
Find your love.
You know that dream you carry around with you each day?
It's kinda important.
Wasn't it what you were put on planet earth to do?
They say everyone has a calling, can your still hear it?
Doesn't it eat away at you? That treadmill you are on, did it ever get too much?
Did you ever wonder what it would be like to do your thing?
Did you ever feel time was passing you by?
Just how many days have you left before your last?
Did you ever wonder about stuff like that?
Did you ask yourself 'what was stopping you?'
There is never a right time.
You will be too old. Too young. Too something or other.
When was last time you took a risk?
Did you remember how alive it made you feel?
There are no guarantees of success.
It's not called a leap of faith for nothing.
It's not too late, honest.
You might fall.
You might fly.
jon birch has designed a new web site to promote his considerable talent...
it looks very cool and has a bunch of samples of his work - illustration, animation, design and so on. just click on one of the small squares. i love the stations of the cross icons that were part of sanctuary's postcards exhibition at greenbelt.
ads dominate the skylines, walls, magazines and so on. i dread to think how many ads i pass in london every day without choosing whether i want to look at them. it's a monologue. well bubble project opens up a fun and creative way of talking back, turning the monologue into a dialogue. download some bubble sticker templates, glue them on to ads, let others fill in the bubbles and photograph the results. the web site has photos from new york in various themed sections. it is of course vandalism and you could get fined. the one below is from the religious section...

smartcommons is a gift to the world from dan and dan. it's social software about which they say...
SmartCommons enables local communities to self-organize and share in a world
that seems more prefabricated and single-serving everyday. SmartCommons is the spiritual bazaar of the
social software services.
at the bottom of this post explaining it dan h links to several posts about it so you can follow the train of thought. dan m explains here or at integration research. sadly it ain't going to work for mac users so i've no idea what it's like! but knowing the two dans i suspect it will be brilliant...
