no 92 : contemporary stained glass windows in motion

cafechurch which has the brilliant strapline tired of organised religion - try disorganised religion employed rick bull (the creative genius i talked about a couple of days ago) as a digital artist from 2001 and 2003 to create animations - contemporary stained glass windows in motion as the site says. you could sign up to get these mailed to you weekly and they were themed in line with the lectionary. what a cool idea! and the animations are fab - i think they have a real edge to them. there are nine samples of them on the web site which you can download from their resources page. i am pretty certain that this must be the cafechurch that cathy kirkpatrick was involved in kickstarting - it was certainly her strapline - so it's great to have come across it again.

they have now employed three new digital artists. this in itself is inspiring. there are not many churches prepared to invest in the arts in this way. you can downlaod an info sheet that explains how to sign up to get further animations etc. i love their approach of creating a culture of generosity whilst wanting to support the artists. this seems to me to offer a creative model in the spirit of what the emerging church should be at its best....

thanks to darren wright who put me on to this and has posted about it at youthmultimedia.

make sure you read their blurb and get permission to use the animations. the direct links to the animations are 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9

thank you to cafechurch...
